Scenes from Madison

Just saw these videos from the HUGE rally in Madison today. Sharing here.

I want that trench!

Princess-to-be Kate Middleton looks amazing in this Burberry trench coat. Major fashion envy happening for me here, and apparently in New York and the UK as well.

Cardinal love

As today's news broke about the legislation passed by the Wisconsin Senates's Republican majority and scenes from the swelling Capitol crowds began to pop up on the Internet, it reminded me of the last mass movement I witnessed in Madison as a student journalist. The one from election night in 2008 when hundreds of students and residents took to the street for a historic moment, though in a starkly different mood.

My thoughts are with those same Wisconsin voters tonight. In two short years, it seems a completely different place all together.

I commend the local press and student journalists who are reporting at all hours of the day so this Badger alum can have a closer eye on what's happening.

Rumour Has It

I'm obsessed with Adele's new CD, 21. Have you listened to it yet? The album's first single "Rolling In the Deep" is amazing, as is the power ballad "Someone Like You," but I cannot get the bluesy "Rumour Has It" out of my head!

Rejoice!

Lady Gaga's new single, "Born This Way," has arrived! And I just want to get up and dance!

Lots of buzz about its similarity to Madonna's "Express Yourself." What do you think? And does it matter? Can't we just like both songs?

Perfection = UMDT

For the second year in a row, the University of Minnesota Dance Team walked away from nationals with double firsts—in jazz and pom. The team had me at Florence + the Machine's "Drumming Song."
